Know spoke before about cross-contamination. But think really people need to understand the severity of getting sick from cross-contamination.
Cross-contamination is when gluten like foods come in contact with food that is suppose to be gluten-free, or when it gets skin contact with someone who has Celiac Disease. The severity of this is that crumbs that do contain gluten get on food, or skin, it can be ingested, and make the person ill.
Upon thinking about cross-contamination. Some thoughts occurred. Such as getting cross contamination from dish clothes, dish scrubs, that are washed with same 'glutened' foods. Handling pet food with your hands, that contains gluten. Like cat food, dog food, bird food that could seem harmless. Items like toaster ovens, and skillets that contain hidden gluten. Of course most of these can be avoided by having separate cleaning towels/'scrubbies'. Washing your hands excessively when finished feeding pets/animals. Using different appliances that do not contain 'glutented' items. Just a thought for Celiac's out there, that are wondering about hidden gluten!
Have a good day!

Home-based Test Strips
It is an at home kit to test yourself to see if you have been "glutened". Patients still need to mail the strips in an envelope. But it beats having to go to the doctors office.
They also have tests to check to see if you are positive for Celiac Disease.

Dining Out and Celiac Disease
So much has been written, blogged, and vlogged about how to dine out gluten-free, and yet it all comes down to very simple steps: understand the diet, research your restaurants, ask questions, be prepared to not order your first choice, and always bring a back-up snack.

Gluten-free Bread Machine
I have always done my own bread in a pan, and sticking it in the oven, without any issues.
There were questions on using a bread maker months ago. I spent some time looking through the Celiac Disease/Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitive Support Group forums. To see if I could get a hold of any recipes that were related to gluten-free baking and bread makers.
This was one of the best recipes I could find. It has gluten-free bread made in a pan, dinner rolls, and gluten free bread in a bread maker.

Since I eat gluten and my wife can not, we take special precautions in our home.
