Home-based Test Strips
It is an at home kit to test yourself to see if you have been "glutened". Patients still need to mail the strips in an envelope. But it beats having to go to the doctors office.
They also have tests to check to see if you are positive for Celiac Disease.

Dining Out and Celiac Disease
So much has been written, blogged, and vlogged about how to dine out gluten-free, and yet it all comes down to very simple steps: understand the diet, research your restaurants, ask questions, be prepared to not order your first choice, and always bring a back-up snack.

Gluten-free Bread Machine
I have always done my own bread in a pan, and sticking it in the oven, without any issues.
There were questions on using a bread maker months ago. I spent some time looking through the Celiac Disease/Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitive Support Group forums. To see if I could get a hold of any recipes that were related to gluten-free baking and bread makers.
This was one of the best recipes I could find. It has gluten-free bread made in a pan, dinner rolls, and gluten free bread in a bread maker.

This reminds me of something which occurred to me some years ago:
We had an aquarium with water frogs who needed bloodworms as food. Bloodworms(BW) are midge fly larvae & can make some people really allergic to them - even if they weren't allergic to them before. As a result, I now cannot be near BW, fish foods which contain it & even mealworms which are semi-related.
However - at first I didn't know the BW's were causing this. The aquarium was right next to my bunny's cage & very close to her hay. I began wondering if I had grown an allergy to the dried grass we had stored there. It turned out I was indeed getting sick from the hay, but only as a response to the BW's presence.
You see, my body was on high alert. SOMETHING was attacking it, so in response my immune system began attacking everything unknown & even semi-known until the enemy was defeated. It took 2 months after removing the BW before the contaminants were completely cycled out of that aquarium. I also avoided the bunny & touching her hay for that time, and thankfully I didn't develop an allergy to her or her food.
This article simply reminds me of that. I feel sometimes even good food can become suspect or 'dangerous' if it's in contamination with bad things AND even stressful events. So as a simple reminder: When you're having a high-stress week, keep a simple diet you can trust. Don't consume things the body is not used to - or it may associate that food WITH the stress. And the last thing we need is to cross yet ANOTHER food type off our list.
